Event: Speed Off The Streets
Location: Wakefield Park Raceway
Notes: The last number of weeks was spent installing a roll cage, tidying up wiring, removing unnecessary interior it tems and sound deadening material. But now we experience a problem at 5500rpm. She runs out of puff. There’s a small backfire and no more pull. Readline is 7000rpm. So far nothing obvious and no CEL light (Check Engine Light). It’s a bit of a head scratcher at the moment.

Notes: What we wish all Race Days could be like. We turned up, spent the day driving as hard as we could then put it on the trailer for the trip home with no issues. The only downer for me, I was again beaten by nine tenths of a second.

Notes: First Day first lap and Dave spins… Classic!!
The rear brake pads wore out. A quick run to the local parts store in town and we replaced them at the track. Later the left front wheel bearing give up forcing us to call the day short. Out of the box though we were 9 seconds faster than the SS commodore we took out the previous month. Dave two seconds faster than me. Both of us smiles all round.
